Case study · The Waterfront, Portreath

The pub that
started it all.

The Waterfront is a harbourside pub in Portreath, Cornwall. It's also the reason ClickBook exists.

£150 a month for a booking button.

Like a lot of independents, The Waterfront was paying one of the big booking sites around £150 a month. For that, they got a booking button that carried someone else's branding and put their guests on someone else's list. The pub was doing the work; the platform kept the relationship.

It felt back to front. So we built them their own.

From £150 a month to £49.

£150£49/ month, flat

A booking page that's properly theirs, at a price that won't go up as they get busier.

What we built for them.

Their branding

The Waterfront's own page

A booking page in the pub's own colours, logo and name. Guests book with The Waterfront, and never see ClickBook at all.

Their tables

Set up, ready to go

We mapped out their tables and service times and handed it over working. No setup work landed on the pub.

Their guests

A list that's theirs

Every booking adds a real, opted-in guest to a list the pub owns and keeps, not one held hostage by a platform.

My mum and dad were paying £150 a month for a booking button, so I made them their own. Other independents wanted it too. That's the whole story.
